Many Indian companies faced challenges in 2024, so is this collaboration a strategic move to enhance profitability by diversifying your portfolio? And is this partnership part of a broader strategy to steer Meghmani Crop Nutrition toward sustainable agriculture?

Karna Patel: The partnership between Meghmani Crop Nutrition Ltd. (MCNL) and Hindustan Insecticides Ltd. (HIL) represents a strategic initiative to advance Nano Urea Plus, a fertilizer marketed to India’s agriculture sector. This collaboration underscores MCNL’s commitment to sustainable agriculture and aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of achieving self-reliance in fertilizer production for India.

ABG: How does this alliance strengthen both companies’ positions for 2025, particularly after a tough 2024?

KP: In 2025, this alliance is expected to strengthen both companies’ positions by diversifying their portfolios and enhancing profitability. The partnership will leverage HIL’s extensive network and government connections to promote Nano Urea Plus across India. MCNL, as the first private organization to obtain manufacturing rights for Nano Urea Plus, will work together with HIL to educate farmers about the benefits and proper use of this fertilizer.

ABG: How do you envision the distribution strategy for HIL Nano Urea Plus across India?

KP: This alliance is poised to enhance both companies’ market positions by diversifying their portfolios and expanding their reach. The partnership will facilitate nationwide availability of Nano Urea Plus through their extensive and complementary distribution networks. Each company bringing unique strengths to their marketing efforts across India.

ABG: Which regions or farming communities will you prioritize?

KP: MCNL will focus its distribution strategy on regions where excessive urea usage has impacted production, soil health, and the environment. By showcasing results in cash crops, the company aims to generate positive word-of-mouth among progressive farmers.

ABG: What initiatives are planned to educate farmers about the benefits and proper use of the fertilizerto ensure its successful adoption?

KP: MCNL and HIL will focus on educating farmers about its benefits and proper application through an integrated approach to crop protection and nutrition. MCNL has already deployed a team of approximately 180 market development associates (MDAs) to conduct farmer meetings, large-scale demonstrations, and field days to promote the product. Additionally, HIL is organizing extensive farmer training programs across the country.
