Eurofins Agroscience Services has announced the closing of its acquisition of Verdelab Bioscience S.r.l., a leading provider of expert phytopathology testing to vegetable breeders in Italy.

Founded in 2002, Verdelab (Rimini, Italy) is a private plant pathology laboratory, designated as an ‘Official Laboratory’ by the Ministry of Agriculture for the detection of fungi, bacteria, viruses, viroids, phytoplasmas and pests. Specializing in vegetable and fruit crop analysis, the Verdelab team constitutes a highly qualified staff of agronomists, plant pathologists, biotechnologists and technicians offering services in Italy, Europe and beyond.

This acquisition marks a significant milestone in Eurofins Agroscience Services’ long-term strategy to provide a full portfolio of integrated solutions to the seed industry, including laboratory diagnostic services, bioassays and field experiments.
