Seipasa Receives Label Extension for Fungisei Biofungicide for Grapevines in Mexico

Seipasa, the Spanish company specialized in the development and formulation of bioinsecticides, biofungicides and biostimulants for agriculture, has obtained the extension of phytosanitary registration for its biological fungicide, Fungisei, for its application in vine growing in the Mexican market.

The certification awarded by COFEPRIS, the Federal Commission for Protection against Health Risks in Mexico, applies to the control of Botrytis cinerea and is additional to the already existing registration of the product in Mexico to control diseases such as Alternaria or powdery mildew in a wide variety of crops.

Fungisei is a fungicide and bactericide of microbiological origin developed from Seipasa’s exclusive Bacillus subtilis strain, a microorganism with high fungicidal efficacy in the control of different diseases. In addition to Mexico, the product has obtained phytosanitary registration in the U.S., Peru, Morocco, Turkey, and the Ivory Coast.

Fungisei is also in the process of registration in several of the leading markets of Africa, Latin America, and Europe where, in this latter case, the active substance that gives rise to the product is classed as Low Risk, according to EU regulations (1107/2009).
