Pangaea Biosciences Appoints Stuart Smith As New Chairman

Pangaea Biosciences has announced the new appointment of Stuart Smith as non-executive chairman for the company. He brings with him exceptional level of skills in coaching and mentoring as well as experience from working for over forty years in agriculture and food.

Stuart has two degrees, a BSc in Applied Biology from the University of Hertfordshire and a PhD in genetics from Nottingham . He also has a level 7 diploma (equivalent to a Masters degree standard) in advanced coaching and mentoring from the institute of leadership and management. This organization looks at the power of leadership to transform people and businesses to perform better and it develops talented leaders with the right skills to make a difference to their organization.

Stuart says his qualification is designed to develop executive coaching and mentoring capabilities in the workplace and to give real impact, by improving individual performance and decision making, leading to improved growth and greater profitability for the company. He says that “coaching is a powerful process to support change and to develop skills to help employees reflect on their situation and to offer advice on how to move forward and implement change, through peer advisory groups or one to one coaching sessions.”

Stuart explains “I am also currently chairman of fourteen other companies, some of which are start ups or in their early stages. I run two Vistage groups across East Anglia. Within these 2 groups, I have 40 people from a range of different businesses that vary in size from £5 million turnover up to £50 million.
