DuPont, Rotam Reach Patent Agreement
DuPont and Rotam agreed to enter into a patent non-assertion agreement which allows Rotam to manufacture, market, and sell a monohydrate form of nicosulfuron in the US market without being sued for patent infringement by DuPont, the two companies reported.
The agreement includes a negotiated fee from Rotam in return for the non-assertion grant and is part of an ongoing DuPont program to protect its intellectual property rights (IPR). "Agreements like this one allow DuPont to obtain fair value for its intellectual property rights," said John Chrosniak, DuPont regional director for North America.
Rotam North America’s President Alvaro Canizares said that the arrangement would allow Rotam "to provide its US customers with agricultural products containing granular nicosulfuron, manufactured by Rotam, without an assertion action from DuPont."
