DuPont Names Kullman President, CEO

DuPont Co. named Ellen Kullman the company’s new leader, said a company press release. Kullman will become president Oct. 1, 2008, and chief executive Jan.1, 2009. Kullman will be DuPont’s 19th leader in its 206-year history. Kullman has been overseeing four of DuPont’s five main business segments.

Current Chairman and Chief Executive Charles Hollidaywill continue to head the board and will do so until Kullman’s ascension to the post. Holliday said now is the time to give up day-to-day management of DuPont, citing the company’s transformation from a chemicals-focused firm to one more broadly involved in agriculture and other areas.
