AgriBusiness Global talked with Dennis Lu, Vice Managing Director for Shenzhen Baocheng Chemical Industry, Co., Ltd. about the company’s plans and goals for the new year. |
ABG: What are your company’s top five goals for the upcoming year?
Dennis Lu: We would like to cooperate with more partners, not only the customers from the sales side, but also suppliers from the sourcing side. We are also developing more products and new formulations to give our customers more choices. This year we plan to get into more markets with our specialized products.
Our company achieved 40 new registrations in 2024, and the overturn raised more than 5% in 2024. We will invest more in registrations, including GLP reports, and also invest in some intermediates to have more advantage for future competition.
ABG: What concerns do you have for 2025 and how does your company plan on navigating them?
DL: We think the biggest opportunity in 2024 is to enhance our advantage formulations, like quality/recipe/effectiveness, and try to build more famous brands, to gain more margin for our business.
ABG: What kinds of companies are you looking to partner with?
DL: We would like to partner with companies with innovative thinking and also reliable ways of doing business.
ABG: What are your thoughts on China’s crop protection market?
DL: For most products, the capacity is too huge in China right now. The price level will remain low and even go down again. The price for most products has already been going down. We think the prices will stabilize and may go slightly down in 2025. We will try to focus more attention on new products with better profits. •
