China Enhances Irrigation Systems

China is taking steps to reduce damage caused by floods and droughts during grain production. The country plans to upgrade its water systems to enhance irrigation and plans to establish a strong water infrastructure by 2020, according to China Daily.

China also plans to keep annual water consumption at less than 670 billion cubic meters for the next five years, according to the 12th Five Year Plan.
