Monsanto Offers New Corn Herbicide

ST. LOUIS, Missouri, US -– Monsanto Co. has added TripleFLEX — an acetochlor premix formulation for pre-emerge and post-emerge use in corn, which should be available for the 2011 crop season — to its corn herbicide portfolio, according to a company press release.

TripleFLEX with acetochlor and broadleaf active ingredients flumetsulam and clopyralid, contains three modes of action with a flexible window of application. TripleFLEX will control a broad spectrum of grasses as well as small and large seeded broadleaf weeds such as pigweed, lambsquarters, waterhemp, velvetleaf and ragweed species, says the company.

Monsanto recently announced it would lower its glyphosate prices and restructure its herbicide offerings.
