BASF To Raise European Chemical Prices

LUDWIGSHAFEN, Germany — Citing higher costs of raw materials, BASF will increase its European sales prices for dimethylaminopropylamine (DMAPA) by $92 per ton, effective immediately or as contracts allow.

DMAPA is an intermediate used in the production of agricultural chemicals and surfactants.

The company will also raise its European prices for formic acid effective immediately, or as existing contracts permit. Formic acid, used alone or in mixtures can be used in animal nutrition. It is also used as an auxiliary in pharmaceuticals and crop protection, as it regulates pH values. Price increases are as follows:

Formic acid, 85%: + $37/ton
Formic acid, 99%: + $49/ton
