DuPont Names Pioneer Hi-Bred China Business Leader

WILMINGTON, Delaware, US -– DuPont has named William S. Niebur, who previously led the company’s crop genetics research and development efforts — as leader of its Pioneer Hi-Bred business in China. China is the world’s second largest seed corn market and a key, long-term growth opportunity for the company as it holds 20% of the global population with only 9% of the world’s arable land.

Pioneer’s first seed corn research center was opened in China in 1998. Since then it has created two joint ventures with a product portfolio developed specifically for the local area.

Niebur will be replaced by John Soper, currently Pioneer’s director of soybean research.
